PEACE, JUSTICE, CARE of EARTH
John
McConnell is an idealist, a visionary, a peacemaker.
Those are the people needed for today, for our future.
George Gallup,
Jr., pollster

|
JOHN MCCONNELL, VISIONARY, said, "Peace is not
the absence of war, but an honest understanding of another person's
point of view."
"Justice is not an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth,
but equal sharing of the world's resources."
"Care for Earth is both a right and a responsibility of
all people."
John McConnell was among the few seers who helped these concepts
dawn with the Age of Aquarius. He laid a foundation for later
visionaries to advance them into the human paradigm of the Third
Millennium.
John's destiny was evident as a boy. Raised by itinerant evangelists,
he traveled the country, witnessed miracles, and relished diversity.
Ahead of his time, he created a biomass product from waste in
the 1930s, espoused cooperation in space during the Cold War,
and created the Earth Flag as a symbol of global unity.
And he conceived the original Earth Day on the Spring Equinox-not
April 22-just as Americans were beginning to wake up to pollution's
dire impact.
Into his 90s, John persisted in his cause, trusting in prayer
that people would "come together where they agree while
leaving room for their differences" in order to "continue
the human adventure on Earth, our nest in the stars, with its
wonderful web of life."
John McConnell
was well known at the United Nations as someone courageous with
ideas, a diplomat for Earth. And he never gave up.
Robert Muller, United Nations Assistant Secretary-General

is totally dedicated and committed to the concept of peace building
through the environment.
